Come make some radio with us!
Application update as of November 2024:
We review applications a few times a year, so we can train folks in small cohorts. This tends to be at the start of the year and in the summer.
Please be aware that many of our weekend and weekly evening slots are already filled with local programmers. This is a great thing for a community radio station! This means there are limited local slots for new programmers. Right now, the options are mostly late nights, a handful of slots during middays on weekdays, and early mornings.
Folks rotate off doing shows here and there, so we will start a "waiting list" for new programmers if a slot doesn't align with your schedule. We also encourage interested new programmers to join us as show subs or be involved in the station in other ways. This will move you "up the waiting" list when a slot that works for you opens up.
No prior radio experience is required, but applicants must be from our listening area or at least in Vermont. We prioritize applications that can be live in our studio. To do a remote show, you must have prior audio or radio experience. If you have questions, drop Llu@WGDR.org an email.
Our Programming Committee reviews applications and if approved, show training takes about 4-8 weeks per show, depending on prior radio experience.
If this all is agreeable to you, go ahead and apply, we'll keep your application on file until the next round.
Application Overview
This application is meant to introduce yourself to us and give us a general idea of what content you want to produce on the air with us. All shows must align with our CVCR mission and no prior radio-making experience is necessary to do a show. If you were previously a programmer and left on good terms with the station, you can apply as well.
It will take you about 10-15 minutes to complete and has 4 short sections.
If you have questions or need help with the application let us know. If you are unable to fill this application out online, we can mail you a copy to fill out by hand. If you need translation or to have it given verbally, or provided through any other accommodations, contact Station Manager, Llu Mulvaney-Stanak at Llu@WGDR.org or by phone/text at: (802) 276-0365.
Ok, let's get to it!
